The powerhouse funk collective Boathouse Jams based in Amsterdam is made up of a collection of talented multi-instrumentalists with a wide range of musical tastes,  Many of whom form the core of the majority of Dutch touring bands. This great group came together during COVID because none of them could perform because of the lockdown. They all agreed to set up camp and begin a summer afternoon jam on the terrace of drummer Ben’s boathouse. The Amstel was totally blocked in a matter of hours as a result of the large number of boats brought in by the people attracted to this unusual type of entertainment. Their goal is to simply get people to dance and go bonkers as James Brown did.
